What is Functional Mobility????

How did you learn to move when you were growing up?

When you were a baby, did you sit on a Nautilus machine and start pressing?

When you were on the playground, did you find the treadmill or the monkey bars?

Much of our issues with movement health (pain, stiffness, poor performance) are based in the fact that we ‘workout’ more than we train our bodies with the fundamental movement patterns that were taught to us in the first place.

We’ve over-complicated the basics.

So learn again.

FAQ’s

  • Out of the box? Your life is spent in a box. You wake up in a room box in a house box and go to a garage box to get transported in a car box to an office box with a literal box (cubicle or office). Then to develop the body, you go to another box (gym box)??? Do the machines in the gym mimic the movements of our ancestors that never had any boxes at all. Our bodies are designed to function in an interface with nature (NO BOXES HERE!!!). So that is how we train.

  • Training vs. Work Outs? ‘Training’ is OUTCOMES FOCUSED. ‘Workouts’ are PROCESS FOCUSED. We ‘train’. Precise outputs require precise inputs. The precision of teaching and movement needed to ‘TRAIN’ is why we keep the class sizes low.

  • What if it is raining? We will meet at my office (a box, I know!). It is adequately sized for the number of people allowed in the course. However, for weather conditions, I do offer an extension of the class to another week as an exception to the cancellation policy.

  • Is there a cancellation policy? Yes. Think of this similarly to a 1/1 appointment or a course that is given at a college as opposed to what a lot of people are used to with gym or studio classes that are ‘quantity’ vs. ‘quality’ oriented. As such, we do have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Your spot is considered ‘used’ within that time frame. Exceptions are for health issues of you or your family or for weather issues. However, exceptions can only be made twice for the same person.

  • What fitness level is this good for? ALL LEVELS!!! Any person of any level will benefit from this course. All exercises are adaptable for high or low performance or even therapeutic modalities for those with pain. Again, why I keep the class size low.

  • Is the price offered the only price? While you should do a few classes first as single sessions at the regular price to see if you like it, ask about the “NO GYM!” RootHealth Membership.

  • Are there other similar courses? Yes! See below
